Pastor Banks and Abby joined the Tabernacle family in November 2011.  They brought with them energy and four boys, Adam, Noah, Jonah and Seth.  On Easter Sunday, 2015, Pastor and Adam arrived in Ethiopia for the last step in their adoption journey and were finally able to bring Anna home to her forever family. 

Pastor Banks grew up in a church planter's home in Eastern Canada.  A dual citizen from birth through his mother, John met Abby at BJU in South Carolina and they celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2024. They are grateful for their expanding family as Adam is newly married and Noah will soon be married in 2026. 

In May 2025, he earned his PhD (Free University of Amsterdam) in Historical Theology. He has a book published with Jonathan Edwards Society Press titled: The Forgotten Edwards: A New Examination of the Life and Thought of Jonathan Edwards Junior.

Pastor Banks has a desire to make the Word of God known in such a way that the glory of Christ may be clearly seen.

Mike and Jerusha moved to TBC in 2024 when Mike was brought on board into the ministry assistant role. Mike serves as secretary, treasurer, and custodian. He is involved in the church's various ministries as a result of being a part of the residential mentorship program. 

Mike aspires to be in full-time ministry and came to TBC to learn more and become prepared for it. He graduated from Clark's Summit University double majoring in Pastoral Ministry and Bible. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Biblical Studies with Lancaster Bible College online as well. 

Mike prays to grow in ministry experience and meaningful connections while assisting the pastors here at TBC.
