Letter from the Pastor:
March 18, 2020
Dear Tabernacle Family,
The response by the US government to the corona-virus is unprecedented. To God’s glory the church has survived the plague, smallpox, cholera, and other epidemics. Those who have put their faith and trust in Christ alone for the forgiveness of their sin are the true church. We have nothing to fear. Nothing can separate the Lord’s Saints from His love (Rom. 8:35). Believers in Christ are also Sojourners, and must assume a responsible position to our governing authorities.
Because the government has made a “recommendation" that no public assemblies occur (groups of 10 or more), we are going to join with other congregations in joyful compliance to our earthly leaders (Heb. 13:17; Rom. 13:1). The board of directors of TBC are going to cancel the public assembly for the next 2 Sundays (March 22 and 29), in addition to what we have already cancelled. We will also re-evaluate our plan as these two weeks unfold as it is simply, at this point, a “recommendation." We trust that this absence from one another will cause us to hunger for face-to-face fellowship, and when we are able to meet more regularly, that we will let other good things take their proper place.
For now, we are having Sunday Service Online! We will provide you with Video Sermon on the Servant Songs from Isaiah (which are found in Isaiah 42:1-4; 49:1-6; 50:4-9; 52:13-53:12; 61:1-4). Scripture Readings and Youtube links to Songs you can sing along with will be provided with an order of service.
At this time, please look for a Sermon Sunday morning by 10 am at this web address: https://tabernaclebiblechurch.org/media/messages.
Or, on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/212689705469706/.
We have been encouraged that many of you have either sent your regular tithes and offerings in the mail or have given securely and confidentially online. We would encourage you to continue to do so as you are able.
Mailing Address: 455 Grove St. Honesdale, PA 18431

Lastly, we also need to be praying for gospel opportunities, and for the wellbeing of our nation. Please pray for one another, and encourage one another through cards and phone calls—there are ways in which we can still “be the church.” If you have family members who are less capable with technology, please assist them in how to participate in these “online” opportunities for encouragement. I think we can all say with the apostle John, “Even So, Lord, Quickly Come!”
Yours in Christ,
Tabernacle Bible Church
